Steve Mac is a British musician, and one of the most successful songwriter and record producer in modern British music [1] Over the past 24 years Steve Mac's songs have grossed over 140 million sales worldwide with 23 No.1 singles, 77 No. 2 singles and 104 Top 5 hits.[1] From his Rokstone Studio in London, his hit songs have been cut by Shakira [2] One Direction,[3] The Wanted,[3] Westlife,[4] Susan Boyle,[5] Il Divo,[4] JLS,[4] Cobra Starship,[6] Kelly Clarkson,[7] Ruben Studdard,[8] Leona Lewis,[9] The Saturdays,[10] James Blunt,[11] John Newman [12] and many others.
Mac has collaborated with a long list of songwriters that include Wayne Hector, Ina Wroldsen, Claude Kelly, Karen Poole, Lindy Robbins, Iain James, Ed Drewett, Lily Allen, Emeli Sandé, Jason Derulo.[13]
Steve Mac received the ASCAP Songwriter of The Year 2013 award after a run of successes across the States last year, including co-writing The Wanted multi-million-seller single Glad You Came.[14][15] The composition was also named ASCAP Song of the Year, honouring both Mac, Wayne Hector and Ed Drewett.[16] Mac had previously won the ASCAP Song of The Year 2012 award for producing and co-writing You Make Me Feel... recorded by Cobra Starship that has sold over 2 million downloads.[17][18] Mac has been nominated twice for a Brit Award (Best Single category). First in 2011 for The Wanted song All Time Low, and in 2012 with fellow songwriters Wayne Hector and Ed Drewett for their No.1, triple platinum single Glad You Came by The Wanted.[19] In 2010 Mac won a Brit Award for Best Single and a MOBO Award for the song Beat Again by JLS [20] Mac has also received three BMI USA Writer awards, won Record of The Year Award three time and MMF Producer of the Year [21][22]
