Lula Mae Hardaway (January 11, 1930, Eufaula, Alabama May 31, 2006, Los Angeles, California) was the mother of blind soul musician Stevie Wonder. She spent most of her adult life in Saginaw, Michigan (where Wonder was born), and from 1975 lived in Los Angeles.[1]

Hardaway co-wrote many of her son's songs during his teenage years, including the hit singles "I Was Made to Love Her" and "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours".[1] For co-writing the latter song, she was nominated for the 1970 Grammy Award for Best R&B Song. She died at age 76.

Legacy

Hardaway was the subject of a 2002 biography entitled Blind Faith: The Miraculous Journey of Lula Hardaway, Stevie Wonder's Mother (ISBN 0-7435-2695-3).
