aus Wikipedia, der freien Enzyklopädie

Gene Pitney (* 17. Februar 1940 in Hartford, Connecticut; † 5.

1961 hatte er mit (I Wanna) Love My Life Away seinen ersten Hit in den USA. So entstanden die Hits (The Man Who Shot) Liberty Valance, zum gleichnamigen Western, Only Love Can Break a Heart (1962), True Love Never Runs Smooth und Twenty Four Hours from Tulsa (1963).

2002 wurde Pitney in die Rock and Roll Hall of Fame aufgenommen.[2]
